Isidora left her heart in Patagonia when she started working at EcoCamp’s Santiago office in 2010 so she was very happy to head back there in 2011 for her fourth guiding season and to start work as an EcoCamp guide in 2012! The globetrotting Santiaguina worked as an Au Pair in Germany before returning to Chile to work as a guide in Atacama, Altiplano and of course her beloved Patagonia, where she not only survives but enjoys the challenging Paine Circuit. She also loves Northern Patagonia and crossing over into Argentinian Patagonia.
Isi, as she’s known to her friends, never travels without good trekking shoes or her swiss army knife or an easy-to-stuff-into backpack. She also always carries a first aid kit (she seems to attract minor accidents) and her water flask. When she’s not half way up a Patagonian mountain, Isidora can be found doing yoga, riding her bike, climbing, horse riding, trekking in another place or hanging out with her friends. Active, some might say! Sociable Isi is very happy with EcoCamp’s unwavering focus on sustainability and environmental responsibility as well as the fun team atmosphere and good vibes between all staff and guests.
Isi’s favourite trek is the Paine Circuit
and she most enjoys trekking in the park in April when there are fewer people and beautiful colours fill the landscapes. She loves it when her groups doubt they can make it only to realise that yes they can! Her funniest moment was when she got attacked by a mother Tero bird for walking to close to its nest and all the group laughed at her running away from the angry bird. Isi’s eco motto in life is carry all rubbish till the end and recycle recycle recycle!
