James Kao is a Los Angeles based professional photographer and as of January 2016, a proud member of the EcoCamp Ambassador Crew.
James’ photographs speak for themselves. There is an elegance, drama, and narrative in his work that brings the viewer along with him; whether the journey unfolds in Patagonia, Nicaragua, India, or any of the other destinations he has photographed. James has an ability to capture the fine details in a portrait, as well as the power of a vast landscape. Based in Los Angeles, he travels around the world and has recently started focussing on adventure travel and sports photography - which is why he is our first EcoCamp Ambassador. In fact, James was the first person to ever do our private Puma Tracking Tour back in 2014, followed by the W-Trek and a trip to Easter Island, and finally Antarctica! Catching a glimpse of a puma is a prize reserved for a select few, and James naturally took some beautiful photographs of his experience. In 2016 James came to Chile on another amazing trip, photographing the Tapati Festival in Easter Island, before heading up to the Atacama Desert with Cascada Expediciones to shoot our Epic Atacama Multi Sport Adventure.
