EcoCamp Patagonia introduces off-peak Dome & Breakfast

EcoCamp Patagonia, in Chilean National Park Torres del Paine, is opening its doors early this year, on the 12th of September, and offering a 30% discount for all guests staying in September and October 2011 and April 2012. This off-peak discount applies to all travelers opting for EcoCamp’s new Dome & Breakfast overnight stay, or booking multi-day trips including the classic ‘W’ trek or EcoCamp’s unique Patagonia Wildlife Safari tour.

Guests stay in fully sustainable Suite, Superior or Standard Domes and dine in EcoCamp’s Core Domes overlooking the magnificent Torres. Guests can immerse themselves in the park’s natural surroundings from the very heart of EcoCamp, drinking an aperitif in the panoramic bar, wandering along the solar-lit wooden walkways, or looking up at the stars through their green Geodesic bedroom dome skylight.

In off-peak months, beautiful Spring and Autumn wildlife fill the park with golden lenga forests stretching into the distance and deep red fire-tree flowers growing in the long grass lining the banks of the turquoise glacial rivers and fjords. EcoCamp’s Wildlife Safari tour gives guests the opportunity to experience the exquisite range of Patagonian fauna including Andean condors and guanacos and, if lucky, foxes and even pumas on rare occasion. During EcoCamp’s 5, 7 and 9 day treks around the park there is an enhanced sensation of being alone in the wilderness due to fewer trekkers in the off-peak season.

EcoCamp Patagonia opened in 2001 as the first fully-sustainable accommodation in the region, and over the last ten years has gained international recognition and awards for its environmentally-sustainable policies. Most recently, EcoCamp was featured in National Geographic’s 2011 Stay List.
