Cascada Expediciones and EcoCamp Patagonia Press and Media News. Meet our Communications Team.
Let’s face it: Organizing an overseas trip is a lot like putting together a puzzle. With so many pieces to keep track of, sometimes one or two get kicked under the table. At Cascada, we aim to make your job easier as you communicate with your clients helping to make their journey to Chile the smoothest it can be.
In Chile, things don’t slow down in winter. In a country with such changing climate and landscapes, the tourism industry is always going strong. To tempt travelers this winter, we’ve launched a selection of new excursions bringing together Torres del Paine trekking adventures, traditional skiing mini breaks, and top-level wine tastings in the Central Valley.
While travelers sometimes disregard Low and Shoulder Season, these months offer numerous benefits such as cheaper flights, the National Park’s changing color palette, the pleasure of less crowded trails - and offers on Torres del Paine tours.
Chile is a country whose shape makes a road trip quite ridiculously simple. Long and thin, the Andes a constant companion to the east and the calming knowledge that the west coast is never far away, it is difficult to lose your bearings. Pretty basic - head south and the mountains are on your left… head north and they are on your right. The sun sets by the sea and takes its time to rise over the height of the mighty Andes in the east. Around 800 kilometers (500 miles) south of Santiago lies the adventure destination of Pucon.
"Where's that coming from? That rhythmic pounding, that galloping sound. Starting off from far away, it's getting closer...as if about to pass right in front of us!”
Thankfully, it's not a guy hiding behind a tree clapping coconut shells together! Far better, that galloping signals the arrival of a herd of baguales, or wild Patagonian horses, who roam the steppe after escaping the gauchos’ domesticity.

The Atacama Desert has been receiving a fair amount of media attention recently, thanks to the miniscule amount of rain which has given life to a carpet of pink flowers. These flowers may not rear their gorgeous heads for very long, but this desert, the driest of its kind on our planet, has a lot more to offer in terms of breathtaking beauty.
For traveling foodies, the pleasure of perusing a foreign menu, ordering from a street vendor's unusual snack selection, or savoring a new dish's unique flavors is the very heartbeat and reason for travel. Sharing meals is such an integral part of the travel experience that the very names of many countries evoke images of food almost immediately - just try whispering sweet nothings of "Italy, India, Japan, France, Vietnam, Peru, and Greece..." to a food traveler and challenge their mouth not to water! But how do travelers with dietary concerns fare when on the road?
