Huge Success for EcoCamp’s first Patagonia Puma Tracking!

We are delighted to report that EcoCamp's first Patagonia Puma Tracking guests saw a total of six pumas over four days of morning and evening outings in Torres del Paine National Park.

Run by wildlife and photography expert Diego Araya, along with the help of guide Roberto Donoso, the group was blessed by incredible weather and good luck.

It’s back! For the third time around, the Patagonian International Marathon will be drawing runners from all over the world to participate in one of the most breathtaking marathons in the world. Organized by NIGSA (Nomadas International Group SA), the second marathon brought over 400 participants to Torres del Paine in support of preservation awareness of the Chilean Patagonia, and they’re at it again this year, planting a tree for every runner!

EcoCamp was recently recognized for its sustainable tourism practices by Chile Sustainable Travel, an initiative under Sernatur, the Chilean ministry of economy, development, and tourism. One of Sernatur’s goals is to establish Chile as a sustainable travel destination and awards the ¨S¨ (sustainability) to lodging services that are socially and ecologically sustainable.

EcoCamp Chef wins second place in prestigious Gastronomy Award

EcoCamp’s chef, Alexis Meza, has won second place in Puerto Natales’ 2013 Gastronomy Award. The competition, now in its fifth year, pits the best chefs of Chilean Patagonia against each other in a competition to create the best king crab dish, a regional speciality, within a certain time limit.
