Christian Van Aken, Operations Manager EcoCamp Patagonia

The most recent addition to the EcoCamp team, Christian grew up in Punta Arenas before moving to La Serena in the north. But now he’s back, and thrilled to be working at EcoCamp as it allows him to spend his time out in nature, as well as working with a team that’s as hardworking and dedicated as the one at EcoCamp. An avid mountain biker, Christian has one message for people wondering if a trip to Patagonia and EcoCamp is the right idea: “just come.” Can’t argue with that!

Coming to work at EcoCamp from the opposite end of the world (Quebec, Canada), Andreanne came to Patagonia wanting to work in one of the world’s beautiful, remote locales, a dream she’s had since high school. Never without a pencil and notebook to record stories about her travels, Andreanne loves the good vibes at EcoCamp and working with a staff that gives their all everyday with love, passion, and devotion.

Francisco Muñoz, Head of Service Quality 

Francisco joined the EcoCamp Patagonia team in January 2014, after 9 years of experience in various hotels of Torres del Paine National Park. A nature lover, Francisco left Santiago to explore the immensity of Patagonia. He has been hiking in the national park more than once, and his knowledge of the area is a great benefit for the company. Francisco likes to hike and camp during his free time, without forgetting to bring some good music and his dogs whenever possible!

Lisette Nuñez, Hospitality Manager 

Lisette Nuñez started working for EcoCamp in 2014, driven by a voracious wanderlust and a true passion for nature. She worked as Operations Assistant before she becoming Head of Reception at EcoCamp Patagonia, where her enthusiasm for meeting people, impressive langage skills (she speaks 4 languages!) and sense of organization are a great asset to the company. During her free time, Lisette likes to wander in the natural wonders of Southern Chile with her friends, looking for wildlife being the animal love that she is!

Eduardo Machuca, Head of Excursions

After living in Santiago for 25 years, Eduardo decided he wanted a change of scenery, and so followed his passion for ecotourism down to Patagonia and to EcoCamp! He loves using his enthusiasm for the outdoors to craft and manage projects that benefit and give back to the environment, and working as part of a dedicated team with EcoCamp and others in and around Torres del Paine to improve sustainable tourism for the future, and keep Patagonia pure for travelers, both present and future. 
 
Lisette Nuñez, Head of Reception

Maria Aranzazu Azores,  RSE and Sustainability

Leaving behind her native Spain in search of adventure, Maria is thrilled to join the EcoCamp team. Passionate about sustainability and ecotourism, part of Maria's job is to educate staff about all the ways that EcoCamp is sustainable through tours, lectures, and workshops. She says that living and working in Torres del Paine is a dream.

Rene Bustamante, Administration & Human Ressources Manager

Rene joined EcoCamp in 2006 and worked for 6 years in the Puerto Natales' office before becoming EcoCamp's onsite manager. He now works in the Puerto Natales office Adminstration & Human Ressources Manager and  Quality Management System : for sure a valuable asset for the company's service excellence (EcoCamp is notably certified ISO 14001 and ISO 9001). Fresh from his travels in Europe, Rene is excited to be making the transition to his new dome home in Torres del Paine! He enjoys working at EcoCamp "because of the good team work and interaction with people from all over the world". Born and bred in Patagonia he loves the region because of "the freedom found in all the outdoor activities and the long summer days with very short nights".
 
Fernanda Sanchez EcoCamp Team

Fernanda Sanchez, Tourism & Transportation Manager

Originally from Santiago, Fernanda decided to trade the crazy streets and hectic lifestyle of the capital for the tranquility and peace of living and working in Patagonia, where she gets to “enjoy the sounds of the outdoors and work with friendly, hardworking, and earnest people.” A giggly and happy person who, in her free time enjoys watching movies or having a Chilean “asado” with friends and family, Fernanda loves helping visitors discover the pure nature and biodiversity of part of the world, and always encourages EcoCamp guests to live in the “now” and truly savor their time there.
 
Juan Colín, EcoCamp Team

Juan Colín, Head of Acquisitions

Juan started working at EcoCamp in 2008 as a waiter and moved to work in administration in EcoCamp’s office afterwards, where he’s now in charge of acquisitions and deliveries. Juan was born in Puerto Natales and despite periods living in different places in Chile, like San Pedro de Atacama, he’s at his happiest when in Patagonia, soaking up the region’s beautiful nature, fishing opportunities, and getting out into the depths of the countryside on weekends.

A Puerto Natales native, Daniel always loved his region for the strong energy you can feel as you hike along the fjords, lakes and mountains of Magallanes. A tourism addict, Daniel opted for a more responsible tourism while specializing in Ecotourism. He worked in various refuges of Torres del Paine National Park before joining the EcoCamp team in 2015 as Operations Assistant. In his free time, when he's nots lost into computing, Daniel uses to spend some good time with his son or relax on a Taekwond session.

Cristina Urbina Cea, Operations Assistant

Another bookworm on the EcoCamp team, Cristina moved all way down to Puerto Natales from her home in Iquique, in the northern deserts. When asked why she moved so far away, she says that she loves the tranquility and the beauty of Puerto Natales - which is easy to agree with! She loves sharing the local culture and cuisine with visitors, as she thinks that’s one of the best ways to learn about other people and places, and she encourages travelers to try the local dishes and share their stories with each other. She likes to watch series and take long walks while listening to music in her spare time.

Hailing from Puerto Natales, Renato is so pleased that he gets to spend his days being close to nature and its beautiful landscapes. Always happy and passionate about his work and his family, as head chauffeur, he advises guests to “allow yourself to be swayed by the environment” and to let the Patagonian wilderness impress you, which is easy to do either on a hike or one of the smooth, comfortable transfers that Renato organizes.

A devoted family man who loves his kids and always travels with them, Sergio is thrilled to spend his days working at an innovative place like EcoCamp, where he encourages guests and other travelers to enjoy the place and landscapes that the area is famous for. He also loves the “peace of mind” he gets working in a place like Patagonia. “It’s priceless,” he enthuses.
