15 Paintings that Show Patagonia’s Unreal Beauty - EcoCamp Patagonia

Patagonia is definitely a place for inspiration. Unlike other getaways, it is easy – so easy! – to be alone facing the immensity of giant landscapes. And, as locals say, everything in Patagonia is slow, so slow that if you go at nature’s pace, you’ll probably find the time to create a bunch of masterpieces to impress your friends when you go back home.

Wen Chien Hou and the art of "plein air" painting (here on Lazo-Weber hike, Torres del Paine)

But when most people traveling to Patagonia practice the art of photography, few people take their time to paint the unique landscapes of the world’s end. Among them, Taiwanese artist Wen Chien Hou chose EcoCamp Patagonia as the base of once-in-a-lifetime hikes (Wildlife Safari). No camera in his hands (he left the responsibility of taking pictures to his daughters) but brush and paint always within reach, Wen completed more than 40 plein air paintings in only a week traveling across Chile and Argentine Patagonia. Here is a selection of his most inspiring artwork. Why 15? Because EcoCamp Patagonia is 15 years old - and these paintings could not be a better gift.
